power in sharing stories
Like Dimitri, parents around the state who volunteer in schools
are learning that there are not enough resources to go around.
Washington state is ranked 42nd in per-pupil expenditures. Our
class sizes are ranked 47th in the nation. Dimitri was surprised
to learn that no matter how careful people are in our schools,
resources are scarce. He understands the need to find a more dependable
way to fund our schools and ensure that every child has the opportunity
to excel and succeed in school.
