There's
power in sharing stories
Like Aidan, second graders all over Washington state are not
getting opportunities they deserve to study rocks and minerals
and more. Washington state ranks 42nd in per-pupil expenditures.
How does that play out?
• Students can't take books home for homework because there
are too few to go around;
• High school students create "poster projects"
rather than having hands-on opportunities in science labs;
• Student miss out on experiential education because field
trip budgets are very tight or non-existent;
• Students have few or no opportunities to be exposed to
a well-rounded education including the arts;
• Many students don't have the opportunity to attend full-day
kindergarten.
